High Speed Cmos Design Styles
Published in Hardcover by Kluwer Academic Publishers (August, 1998)
Authors: Kerry Bernstein, Keith M. Carrig, Christopher M. Durham, Patrick R. Hansen, David Hogenmiller, Edward J. Nowak, and Norman J. Rohrer
Average review score:

Good Pragmatic Approach , good to have on shelf as referance
The book is very nicely written and has lots of practical tips, rule of thumbs which a practicing high speed CMOS circuit design engineer needs. Its conscise and works as good referance.

An excellent reference on cell-based circuit topologies.
The IBM authors wrote a concise reference manual on circuit
design, process variation effects on circuits, and time borrowing. What is missing? Sections on sequential circuit design, transistor sizing techniques, or modeling circuits through mathematics, spice and verilog. However, this is among the most lucid texts written on circuit structures to date.

Simply Great.
It's concise but deals the topics in depth. It's much better and practical than usual vlsi text books.

Marie: Mystery at the Paris Ballet Paris, 1775 (Girlhood Journeys)

Not as good as the first.
This book was not as good as the first Marie book. It was ok, though, nothing really great however. I reccomend the first one more.

Really cool!
Mystery At the Paris Ballet was just as good as the first Marie book! I liked it!

It is a very good book, I think you need to make more books
At last Marie has realized her dream of dancing with the famed paris opera, but life at the ballet is not all she imagined it would be. the other dancers in the corps de ballet, jealous of her talent, tease her about her youth and inexperience. her long hours of practice leave her little time for her best friend, joelle. Her wealthypatron,Countess du lac, gives her lavish gifts, but it is difficult for marie to accept the Countesses extravagance while people struggle to provide for their families and poor children beg for food in the streets of paris.

The Complete Guide to Marketing Your Law Practice
Published in Paperback by ABA Publishing (01 April, 2001)
Authors: Hollis Hatfield Weishar, James A. Durham, James Durham, and Hollis Hatfield Weishar
Average review score:

Good book, but not useful for a small or solo firm
Overall this book had a lot of good points which I hope to incorporate into my practice. However, there is only one thirteen page chapter on how to market yourself if you are a solo or small firm. The majority of the rest of the bok is on how to market a larger firm. As a solo practioner I would have liked to have seen more information in regard to my situation.

A must
It's a great book that every lawyer (partner or associate) should read and read again. No theory. Just real life stuff. And many many good ideas.

Fear Effect

An Above Average Guide
Expecting another "less than expected" guide from Brady, I bought this guide only because I wanted to know more about the game. This guide surprised me with it's helpfullness to get out of tricky situations in the game. It allowed me to progress the plot without giving away much of the storyline.

Extremely helpful!
This book gave a good explanation and let you definitely know where help was needed. It gave a great overview of areas, weapons, etc. It's invaluable for new RPG gamers who need some help.

Requiem: Avenging Angel--Prima's Official Strategy Guide
Published in Paperback by Prima Publishing (07 April, 1999)
Authors: Joel, Jr. Durham, Prima Publishing, and Joel Durham
Average review score:

Good
This strategy guide was a good one. It helped me a lot. I would hope that you would by this guide if you are stuck in the game.

Wow-eee You want this angel on your side !!!
I've been playing computer games since the early 1980's. Let me say I haven't always had a good time playing these FPS's. Most of them are knock off's of Doom or some other standard we have come to take for granted. Generally I consider the top FPS's for the past few years to be the Unreal series, the Quake II series, the Half Life series and this game Requiem. Why include this game is such august company ? -- that's easy !!! Just fool around with Malachi for a little while. IF you don't find yourself having one HECK of a good time, just try reading the strategy guide. Malachi is big, bad, bold and outstandingly different and that's just the intro to this wonderful game. With several different difficulty levels to choose from it won't be long before the pages of this guide are dog-eared and worn from having the time of your life playing with this bad boy. This is just a well written and very much needed item for playing this game. For example late in the game (hint: my very own trick for you to play with and use on the bad guys) you finally get a really potent power spell (divine ability, after all you're an angel) called apocalypse, it's kind of like a tactical nuke (like the big bang type) well the game hints along with the guide that you shouldn't use this as you'd toast everyone as well as yourself !!! Here's my trick, I set it off in the train, then ran like blazes the other way and I hid in another car -- what fun all those enemies coming for me -- you got it, toast. So have fun with this game and guide, there is a whale of a game here and you'll need this well-done book chock full of the most amazing stuff. The battles are fierce and very much different within as you fight with the abilities an angel would have with the game cuting away to the battles with the various bosses. One thing though -- I wish Prima had included some of the color artwork (it looks stunning in B/W) so you'll have to actually play the game (the few pic's on the box don't do it justice) to see the marvelous job done on the artwork and characters. Just about everything in this game will indeed blow you away. This Prima guide book is big, a whopping 369 pages and even has a section on shooting tactics including a first rate description of the must-use Circle Strafe. So enjoy, because if you find even some of the enjoyment I did with the aid of this book making this fine game that much better, I'm sure you'll thank yourself for taking the time to read this book. One last thing of interest, this game has kind of a first -- the story combines real elements of RPG's as well as solving puzzles aka Adventure games which the guide explains extremely well. This game actually touches you emotionally -- you care about the mortals you have as allies and when you save them it's truly stunning and to see how you do that from Malachi's standpoint is awesome !!!

Willie's Not the Hugging Kind

Willie's Not The Hugging Kind
Wille's Not The Hugging Kind is a book that can teach a child about not listen to what other people think about what you do. This book was published 1989 and Written By Joyce Durham Barrett and Illustrated By Pat Cummings.
In this book one of Wille's best friends Jo-Jo thinks hugging is Silly and when he sees Wille hugging his dad before school one day he says something to Willie. This made Willie think that it was stupid and silly to hug people so he didn't want to give hugs anymore. But when Wille stops hugging everyone he soon misses giving and getting hugs from his family. Then one morning he put his arms around his mom and notcited that he liked the feeling and didn't want to listen to what Jo-Jo had to say about hugs being silly. And then now Willie feels free to give hugs and doesn't care about what other people think.
I think this book teaches a lesson about not to listen to what other people think and say about what you are doing and if it feels good don't stop doing it just because someone thinks its silly.

Willie really does want a hug
My second grade students loved this story. Willie has been told by a friend that hugging, basicly, isn't the thing to do. He finds himself jealous of others (including family members) that he sees hugging, and longs for a hug himself. In the end, he does hug his mom, and let his family know he is, in fact, the hugging kind!

He Really Is the Hugging Kind
This is a great book to let all kids know that no matter what anyone thinks of you it's ok to hug your family members love is a important part in life and if you are afraid to have love because of what friends think it's wrong. You should always be able to have love no matter how old you are

Fantastic Read
This book was a great read. Thrill-a-minute.

I had hoped to read more of Guy's work, but, as far as I know, he only wrote one more book.

A Very Plesased Reader
This book was great. I loved the detail it went into. I especially liked the parts of action. The thrill just keep me reading. Thank you Mr. Durham.

Book was a marvel of technical details and fiction
Guy Durham masterfully tells a spy tale with grity details of the processes along the way. He includes a myriad of interesting characters and plot twists in a live-action way, Bravo!

The Insiders' Guide to the Triangle : Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh
Published in Paperback by Becklyn Pub Group (April, 1999)
Authors: J. Barlow Herget and Janice T. Mancuso
Average review score:

I suspect this presents only half the picture
This book is definitely full of useful information, and it IS the only one of its kind for the Triangle. Still, the fact that they sell advertising in the book really makes you wonder: how objective is it? Also, the text is relentlessly positive, forcing prospective Triangle residents with valid questions--e.g. What parts of town are dangerous? What restaurants should I avoid at any cost?--to search elsewhere for answers. Problem is, this is the only book of its kind. Useful but more than a little frustrating.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Great resource
My wife and I will be relocating to the Triangle and managed to find a copy of this book. It has information about everything from restaraunts, to living arrangements, day trips, and more. If you will be heading to this area to live or just visit, this book is packed with ideas and things to see and do.

Covers...close to everything
We relocated to Durham recently and find this book a great resource. Without it it would be difficult to locate great attractions or learn about the area.

Build Your Own High-Performance Gamer's Mod PC
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill Osborne Media (01 April, 2003)
Authors: Joel Durham Jr. and Edward Chen
Average review score:

Good but not Great
This book would be very good for someone new to the computer building world but does not offer much to anyone with average knowledge. Most of us know what a PSU does and how memory is installed. But if your new to building a cpu, then this is a good source of information.

Good Book For First Time Computer Builders
I found this book to be very knowledgeable and it guided me to building my first comp.

The pictures are a big help so you can actually see how things go together and view the correct way of doing it.

I felt the book could have been a bit more informative on the exact step-by-step method for building a comp. I was somewhat confusing weather to hook up the DVD, CDRW, and/or tape drive before or after you hit the power button for the first time. The book made you feel like you boot up the BIOS before you hook up the DVD, CDRW, etc. which may or may not be correct but it doesn't really make sense. I hooked up everything then booted up the system so the BIOS recognized everything. It worked perfectly!

The modification section was informative but there should have been more detail for wire clean up to make the inside look pretty as well. There also should have been step-by-steps on how to hook up case lighting, the best positioning, fan hook ups, etc.

Overall I think it is a good book to purchase to better understand how to build a comp and to modify it to your liking.

Great for beginners
This book makes great uses of friendly text and informative pictures and really shows how a PC is put together. I've never built my own PC before but now I feel like I can do it easily, and I'm already getting parts and putting them together. The mod stuff is really cool but I don't have some of the tools you need to do it, so I can't comment on how easy modding is with this book.

I just wish the book had a chapter on installing Windows, it kind of leaves you hanging after talking about the hardware side. Otherwise, great book!!
